Video provided by Fox News Pennsylvania prison officials are shooting down a rumor that claims Bill Cosby was involved in fracas in which an inmate supposedly threw a chicken patty at the disgraced comedian. Reports started circulating that indicated Cosby, 81, was in the dining hall and made a joke that another inmate found distasteful. The report claims that the inmate removed a chicken patty from the bun, threw it and smacked the former “Cosby Show” star in the face with it.
Officials said the story is a work of fiction. Not only did the official deny the tale, but added that it would have been impossible to have happened, as Cosby isn’t even mingling with other inmates yet.

Northwest What was once slated to be a controversial subdivision is now a unique island preserve thanks to the Little Traverse Conservancy. Oden Island, located south of the village of Oden, juts out into Crooked Lake and is the home to large old-growth trees and fragile wetlands. When a developer proposed crowding 34 homes on the east half of the island, the Conservancy orchestrated a response in that included an outpouring of support and donations from communities and families to protect the natural side of the island.
Today the acre preserve offers a parking area, nearly a mile of foot trails Heartland Tucked away on the east side of Alden, oblivious to most visitors who are mesmerized by Torch Lake to the west of town, is a small mountain with a short but interesting trail system. Coy Mountain Natural Area dates back to when Reuben Coy decided to preserve a ridge forested in virgin hardwoods that towered behind his gristmill. It was the last remnant of the giant maples and beeches in a region that had been heavily clear cut by loggers.
The acre tract remained in the Coy family until when Reubens daughter-in-law deeded the property to a group of trustees with the intentions of preserving Coy Mountain for the use and benefit of the Villagers of Alden and the surrounding comm

Examples of police misconduct include police brutality, dishonesty, fraud, coercion, torture to force confessions, abuse of authority, and sexual assault, including the demand for sexual favors in exchange for leniency. Any of these actions can increase the likelihood of a wrongful conviction. At times, police misconduct is systematic. In one such case, Former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge was arrested on federal obstruction of justice and perjury charges for allegedly lying about whether he and other officers under his command participated in torture and physical abuse of suspects in police custody dating back to the s.
On more than one occasion, Burge participated in the torture and physical abuse of persons in police custody in order to obtain confessions and Burge was aware that detectives he supervised engaged in torture and physical abuse of people in police custody. He was fired from the police department in and was later convicted in federal court for perjury connected to a civil lawsuit flied against the city.

Often times police simply push the envelope in order to obtain a witness statement. In the case of Timothy Atkins, Atkins was convicted after a witness, Denise Powell, testified that Atkins had confessed to the crime. After Atkins was incarcerated for more than two decades, the California Innocence Project presented evidence that Powell was pressured by police to testify.
Like prosecutors, police officers are tasked with making our society safe. Sometimes their zeal leads them to cross the line and use the power of their badges to make a case that otherwise would not be triable.
